Welcome to

Glenark Mills

Glenark Mills is a historic gem that was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. The original stone section of the mill was erected in 1865, the last year of the Civil War. The brick addition was built in 1885 when Woonsocket, as well as many other cities along the Eastern seaboard, were booming with machinery and engulfed in smoke from factories. Glenark Oaks, an addition completed in 1990, now offers modern apartment homes that are steeped in history.

In 2015, Glenark Mills/Oaks received the Vanguard Award from the National Affordable Housing Management Association for “Major Rehabilitation of an Existing Rental Property,” cementing its reputation as a top-notch affordable housing option.

This community offers affordable living in grand style, with a rich history that dates back to colonial times and bloomed during the Industrial Revolution. Today, this old mill town is being refashioned for the 21st century, offering its residents a unique living experience. Glenark Mills/Oaks offers 89 affordable apartments, including one-, two-, and three-bedroom units to accommodate families of different sizes. Some of the amenities include a laundry room, a community room, and a kitchen that all residents can enjoy. The property also features a community playground.
